Prayer for Blessing 

Blessing is what is known as a "false cognate" between English and French. In English the word means the infusion of something or someone with holiness, while in French it means "to injure." But how far apart are those two meanings? Blessings can be painful at first, and prayer for blessing doesn't always acknowledge this. Your very own prayer for blessing can, for a small price, be recited by a monk at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Your prayer can break down barriers between what you believe to be a blessing and what truly is a blessing.

Approximately about 14 days after your prayer is read aloud in the Church, you will receive a certificate with the church's official stamp as testimony to your prayer having been said by a monk, and your absolution by the priest. This is a wonderful reminder of your faith as well as a token of your spiritual pilgrimage to the holiest place on earth. God spoke to Moses telling him to bless the Isrealites by saying "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and give you peace. So they shall put my name on the Israelites and I will bless them." Your prayer for blessing is like that of God on the Israelites thousands of years ago, and it can be read from the place where Jesus was resurrected.
